Louis H. Sturm Hardware Store is a historic commercial building located at Jasper, Dubois County, Indiana. It was built about 1850, and is a three-story, three-bay, Italianate -style brick building. It houses the oldest continuously operated commercial retail business in Jasper.
His son, Ronald Rashkow, bought out the single store operation in 1967 from his father. He converted the company to Handy Andy in 1971 with its first expansion unit. [1] The company grew to 72 stores in seven American states (Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri, Mississippi, Michigan, Tennessee, and Kentucky).
A post office was established at Hastings in 1891, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1903. [4] The name of the community likely honors a family of settlers. [ 5 ]
