V.A. Memorial Stadium is a baseball stadium located on the grounds of the Veterans Administration Hospital campus off of OH-104, three miles north of Chillicothe, Ohio. It is officially designated as building 244. The stadium is the home field of the Chillicothe Paints, a collegiate wooden bat baseball team in the Prospect League.
Organized baseball reportedly began in Chillicothe, Ohio in 1866. A Chillicothe team was noted to have defeated the Circleville Eurekas 25–2. [1] Minor league baseball play was first hosted in Chillicothe, Ohio in 1884, when the Chillicothe Logans team became charter members of the Ohio State League.
The borough has been the home of the Conemaugh Valley Youth League (known prior to 1987 as "East Conemaugh Youth League") baseball and softball programs since 1968. While both programs are run by CVYL, baseball belongs to the Little League of Johnstown (since 2015), and softball plays in the Cambria-Somerset Fastpitch Softball League (since 2001).
