The Catholic Studies Program, an initiative of Shea, also launched in the fall of 2010. On October 19, 2010, the program was named in honor of Bishop Paul Albert Zipfel, sixth bishop of the Diocese of Bismarck. It is an interdisciplinary program designed to explore the Catholic Church's contributions to and influence on human thought and culture.
