The U.S. Post Office in Mayfield, Kentucky was built in 1910. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. The Post Office, along with much of downtown Mayfield, was destroyed by a long-track EF4 tornado on December 10, 2021.
The primary (south) elevation has the concentrated enrichment. This elevation consists of a horizontal balustrade with simple Tuscan capitals and an unenriched entablature, flanked by two monumental pavilions. The pavilions terminate the composition of the south elevation and consist of two 4' diameter, two-story high Doric columns in limestone.
