APA style (also known as APA format) is a writing style and format for academic documents such as scholarly journal articles and books. Among major style guides, only CMOS (preferred by historians) recommends it. WhatamIdoing 21:17, 16 April 2010 (UTC) I have looked at the MLA, CSE, Vancouver and other manuals of style, and the online guide from Purdue; they all explain how to set up bibliographies. Only the APA Style calls for a list of references instead of a bibliography.
