The New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum is a 47-acre (190,000 m 2) interactive museum in Las Cruces, New Mexico, that chronicles the state’s 3,000-year history of farming and ranching. The museum is part of the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs. [1]

Tehama County was formed from parts of Butte, Colusa, and Shasta Counties in 1856. The first permanent non-indigenous settlers in the area that is now Tehama County were Robert Hasty Thomes, Albert Gallatin Toomes, William George Chard, and Job Francis Dye. The four men were each given land grants by the government of Mexico in 1844.
