The Mesquite Convention Center and Arena is a multi venue complex consisting of a 7,000-seat multi-purpose arena and a 50,000 square foot convention center in Mesquite, Texas, United States. [1] It is home to the Mesquite Championship Rodeo and the Texas Outlaws indoor soccer team of the Major Arena Soccer League .
Mesquite is a city in the U.S. state of Texas, located in Dallas County with portions extending into Kaufman County.The population was 150,108 at the 2020 census, [3] and making it the 22nd-most populous city in Texas.
Town East Mall was developed by the Homart Development Company a subsidiary of Sears. Harrel & Hamilton of Dallas were architects and the construction contract was held by the Avery Mayes Construction Company also of Dallas. the Y shaped mall features a 168 foot steel pylon at its center. [2]
Mesquite is located on Farm to Market Road 1054, east of US Route 87 and north of US Route 180. The nearest large community is Lamesa , approximately 15 miles (24 km) to the southwest. It is also located 16 miles (26 km) northwest of Gail , 55 miles (89 km) north of Big Spring , and 7 miles (11 km) south of the Lynn County line.
Loop 12 leaves the highway to the south just northeast of White Rock Lake where the Spur 244 designation begins. Spur 244 ends at SH 78 (Garland Road) just short of I-635. All 2.9 miles of Spur 244 is signed as Northwest Highway. Spur 244 was designated on June 21, 1951 on its current route. [4]
Lawson is an area within Mesquite, Texas, United States; it was formerly a distinct unincorporated community in Dallas County. Lawson had the names Slapfoot and Haught's Store. By 1982, Mesquite annexed the community.
