Wings is a 1927 American silent and synchronized sound film which won the first Academy Award for Best Picture. While the sound version of the film has no audible dialogue, it was released with a synchronized musical score with sound effects. The original soundtrack to the sound version is preserved at UCLA. The melody is from a 1761 French music book and is also used in other nursery rhymes like "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star", while the author of the lyrics is unknown. Habanera ("music or dance of Havana") is the popular name for "L'amour est un oiseau rebelle" (French pronunciation: [lamuʁ ɛt‿œ̃n‿wazo ʁəbɛl]; "Love is a rebellious bird"), an aria from Georges Bizet's 1875 opéra comique Carmen. It is the entrance aria of the title character, a mezzo-soprano role, in scene 5 of the first act.
