The following is a list of Illinois High School Association member conferences. Schools that belong to these conferences compete with each other on a local level in athletics and non-athletic activities. As of the 2023-24 school year, there are 70 conferences within the IHSA.
The Western Athletic Conference is a high school athletic league that is part of the CIF Southern Section. [1] It is an amalgamation of the Express League and the San Joaquin League (now the Santa Cruz League ).

Dundee Community High School and Irving Crown High School, both charter members of the FVC, consolidated to become Dundee-Crown at the start of the 1983–84 school year. Lake Zurich joined the conference in 1991–92. Grayslake (now known as Grayslake Central) joined in 1997–98. Prairie Ridge opened this year and joined the conference as well.
The conference also announced that it would most likely add another member that fielded a football team at a later date. While the WAC originally announced that all new members would join on July 1, 2022, commissioner Jeff Hurd later said that the arrival of the Texas Four "was expedited" to July 1, 2021. [3]
