I have a 26 foot Sailfish Center Console that we do a fair amount of spearfishing off of. We usually just keep spearguns in bags laying on the deck. Looking for different options for storing the guns (at least 4 guns) vertically in the back of the boat and do not want to drill holes into the boat for mounting. Any ideas would be most appreciated.

This Radon 26’ was custom built for fisherman, diver, and actor Kevin Costner. He is the original and only owner of this legendary work vessel/sport boat. Many of the appointments found throughout were ideas that Kevin brought to Don Radon because they made the boat more comfortable and “just made sense”.
I like the tarp and foul weather gear ideas. They will go well with beer, bacon, and eggs in the morning. Robbert- Good point about anchoring. On this trip we are going to get a mooring, but I know that my friend's boat is rigged to spend the night on the anchor. He has two anchors and the necessary anchor line.
I did the same thing last year to my 1985 grady white offshore pro, get all that nasty foam out and make sure any wood that you may put back in the boat is pressure treated! I put a new transom, swim platforms, bracket, and floor in mine. _____
Since the boat is a WalkAround style hull/cabin there isn't a whole lot of room for that sort of thing. After a year of working on this in my head I finally started about 3 weeks ago. After MANY design ideas I finally came up with what I feel was the best way to go. Unfortunately, it involved cutting into the gunnel caps.
Man, I have been on here a long time and seeing some of those names again was to say the least, kind of saddening. This place is not what it used to be. Hopefully a new generation of spearos will get it back to what it once was. Cheers, and RIP Marc. I do miss you buddy!
Diving Safety, Accidents and Incidents Post here to discuss accidents, incidents, ideas, gear, or anything else to improve spearfishing safety. Memorials and condolences threads should be placed in that separate forum.
Well, it's finally arrived. A whole 15 days of open gag season. Gonna look like the Calif. Gold rush Sunday. Instead of covered wagons heading west.. It'll be boats on trailers at the boat ramps heading west. That'll be a zoo in the am and late afternoon with the "holiday" boaters. With all the bad vis reports.
Walk the beaches on an ultra low tide and you will get a feel for where the reefs are. Look at some images of the coast from the air on the interwebs too for ideas of where to dive. Know your MLPAS and target species and sizes/seasons/limits, or ultra vigilant DFG warden Cohen will be there when you F up.
