Holy Name Church is a Catholic church and diocesan shrine, the seat of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Star of the New Evangelization Parish in Columbus, Ohio.It is part of the Diocese of Columbus and located just north of the campus of the Ohio State University.
In 1970, the name of the facility was changed to the "Shrine Center for Renewal" and more ecumenical uses of the shrine became common, with local Protestant groups using the facility. [10] The chapel was the site of celebrations of the Tridentine Mass in the 1990s. [ 11 ]

On December 6, 1985, the building was inaugurated as the Bharatiya Hindu Temple. The temple started hosting religious festivals and launched its newsletter Anjali. [1] [4] [5] In 1990, the temple hired its first full-time priest and started offering Hindi classes. Participation in temple activities continued to increase.
By then, the growing Catholic population in Columbus necessitated a larger church building. At Father Juncker's request, the parish was renamed “Holy Cross”. The present structure was completed and consecrated by bishop John Purcell on January 16, 1848, [7] just as Irish immigrants began to arrive in Columbus to escape the Great Famine.
The cathedral c. 1900-10. St. Joseph Parish, named after Saint Joseph, was founded by members of St. Patrick's Parish in Columbus in 1866 to alleviate overcrowding. Its pastor, the Rev. Edward M. Fitzgerald, began to plan for the church, raised money, formed a building committee and secured property on Broad Street and Fifth for $13,500. [1]
