Paul Sellers is a down-to-earth, no nonsense woodworker. In being a part of the Woodworking Masterclasses, I feel I am being taught to work wood by a 19th Century Master Woodworker, which is truly awesome. Paul’s gentle spirit comes through on the videos, which makes learning hand tool woodworking therapeutic.
Paul enjoyed designing this piece two decades ago, and working on this part brought back fond memories. The proximity and tightness of the joinery works in synchrony to create the corbelling that transfers the downward pressure from the centre of the dressing table-top to the outer supporting legs.

Not sure why one would want to can the model here. The company is great, Paul Sellers is an absolute wizard of woodworking and if the plane is good enough for him then it is certainly good enough for me. I might make one and enter it in the beauty quest. Teak or ebony would turn some planes on their head.
