The United World College Costa Rica (UWC Costa Rica, also known by its acronym UWCCR) (Spanish - Colegio del Mundo Unido Costa Rica), located in the Santa Ana suburb of San José, is the 11th college in the UWC movement and the first to offer instruction in both English and Spanish.
The UWC education nurtures students' whole person development by having the 'Creativity, Activity, Service' Programme (CAS) at its core. Each UWC school and college offers CAS activities under different names but similarly offers a wide range of both faculty and student led activities.
Thanks to a wide network of sponsors and supporters and a need-based scholarship program, the national committees can select students irrespective of the financial situation of their parents. At UWC Robert Bosch College, over 70% of the students receive a full scholarship, while the rest are on partial scholarships or self-funded.
The Model UN program, at UWC East in particular – is the largest in South East Asia, and they organise two MUN conferences each year, with delegates flying in internationally.
