If that device is connected wirelessly the results will almost always be lower than that of the Sky run test. Speed tests from external websites don't tell us anything other than ...

Yes - See that it an estimate. After 3 weeks of Sky and Fibre have decided that the line may be offering 500 Meg to the router. However the Sky router just can't seem to cope with Fibre speeds. Sky router replaced by Asus AX58U and wi-fi speeds now show close to 500Meg. Thanks.
If that gives a low reading using a couple of test Apps (e.g. Speedtest, Fast) repeat with a different ethernet lead. Enable the WiFI Access Point then disconnect the ethernet cable. Turn off WiFi on as many items in the property as possible then repeat the speed tests with one item connected to WiFi.

27 Dec 2023 08:18 PM. I have had speed issues with Sky Broadband for some time now and today decided enough was enough so went on to sky and ran all their automated checks an their system says all is ok. Two other reliable broadband testers show my speed between 0 and 7 mbs. Shame on you Sky.

However noticed broadband extremely slow (online test shows 4-6mps and speed test on upstairs boaster (20mps). Modem is not losing the 4 green lights. Have run and rerun sky app test my connection without issues. However the speed is not like it normally is and defiantly something a miss. Not sure if the modem is faulty (probably 3-4 years old).
