January 07, 2016, 11:53:28 AM. I am very glad to say that with the advice on the people here on this forum, I bought a new Central Boiler 6048, and fortunately, I bought it on the last day it was legal to buy one! I am going to wait until spring to install because I don't even have enough wood to make it worth burning right now, but I want to ...
My insulated PEX tubing is the cheaper stuff that is just wrapped in insulation and then inside black plastic pipe. It was around 4 bucks a foot and when buried 4.5-5 feet underground I don't think the $11 a foot thermoPEX from CB would be any better. I have a very small temp loss from the boiler to the first heat exchanger.

Second is the Pex tubing. Central offers their own ThermoPex tubing in 1" and 1.25" diameters, and PexFlex offers dual insulated tubing in a variety of sizes. Any advice and where to buy either would be appreciated. Thanks. (I'm sure I'll have more questions later)

The 1" Thermopex is a little smaller, like 4-3/8" OD but it works fine and meets the criteria on the GPT calculator on their website. M6800, Farmi JL 601 winch, Titan BX26S chipper, Pronovost P-860 snowblower, Woods 9000 backhoe, Stihl MS362C-M
I ran 1" thermopex from my boiler, through my shop, down into the ground on the other side of the shop and then across to my house basement. The guy at the boiler dealer said they sell ONLY Taco 009's for circulating the water from the boiler to the building.
The thermopex is buried and goes under the porch where the two new looking deck boards are installed. It then comes up and goes up the outside wall into the eves of the house. My heat pump where I installed the the heat exchanger is in the middle of the house and is not easy to access from the outside.
I replaced my ThermoPex (Central Boiler) with his 5 wrap (not the eZeFlexBLUE) last year and there is a measurable difference in heat loss. Independent testing shows that my 5 wrap has less heat loss than comparable poly, and I believe the 3 wrap blue has slightly more (.67 vs .57) loss than mine.
