My ford edge with 9k miles was smelling like exhaust inside the car. Ford found and fixed a rear axle seal. This took about 2 weeks because of the holidays and another part being defective and in short supply. The car still has this sporadic smell of exhaust or burning inside and outside the car. One time, smoke was coming in through the vent.
"The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it has opened a preliminary evaluation of China-made tire valves in more than a million 2007 Ford vehicles, including the Edge, F-150, Fusion, Mustang and Lincoln MKX, after receiving 37 complaints from consumers."
Actually it's the 6F35 transmission in the 2.5L and 3.0L Fusion that's somewhat problematic, not the Aisin units in the pre-09 models and the 2010+ sport. The Edge uses the 6F50 transmission and it does not have the same problems. I moderate an Edge forum and there are very few reports of transmission problems and none like the Fusion and Escape.
I own a 2008 Ford Edge SE, lately it seems the air has been very temperamental. When I start the car the air may or may not kick on. When it doesn't I try to flip through all the settings but usually to no avail. Though sometimes I may leave the air "on" and while driving for awhile it kicks on, but this is not every time.
My 2007 Edge will not fill the last two or three gallons without going in at small spurts at a time. Dealer referred to Ford Motor Co. Learn more about Ford Edge at the Edmunds.com Car Forums!
I investigated, and the local Ford dealer told me there are 800+ cases in North America with 2007/08 Ford Edge rims. As well, I requested free replacement rims (covered under warranty).. but these are on massive back-order... they're talking 2-3 months before in-stock since there are so many cases of this throughout NA.
My new 2008 Ford Edge sunroof literally exploded from the inside out while driving down the highway at about 70 mph. The sunroof was closed at the time and there were no other vehicles around my car or overpasses nearby, when the sunroof exploded.
I have a 2003 Ford Edge Pick up 6 cyl. 5 speed standard. Was driving yesterday about 55 mph. when all of the sudden it was as if i had a blow out. I tried to pull over, but even though my clutch was in all the way, I was in neutral while braking. I skidded to the side of the road. Got out all tires were fine.
We just purchased a new 2009 edge, I was able to buy it through lowe's using the x-plan program, I really liked that concept. Also, I utilized the governments cash for clunkers program, I rec'd $4500.00 with that, $3000.00 from ford, and the other 'perks' from the x-plan offer.
I have a 2007 Ford Edge and the sunroof cover is sticking. It will not open sometimes, and when it opens it slams open. This is most common when it is hot out. There is a neoprene filler that is expanding. There was a technical service bulletin issued for 2007 Edge's that were made before 8/1/2007.
