If you want to make animated GIFs with a transparent background, I'd recommend: Photoshop for simple animations. After Effects for more complex animations. You'll have to export the final animation as an image sequence and then import that into Photoshop to export the final animated GIF.
I was trying to figure out why the WebM File shows like this too. I put the Green Background behind the Blue to endsure it looked right and I included the "Include Alpha". I did the same settings for the Yellow and a Transparent Background. I'd like to know what my Export for the Yellow doesn't look the same as the Blue File.

And the svg itself. Creating SVG files in Photoshop defeats the purpose of SVG, Scalable Vector Graphics. Vector graphics are scalable while photoshop files will show their pixels when scaled up. Exporting from Photoshop as SVG (which can contain bitmaps) should give a transparent background if there was one in Photoshop.
When I try to convert a .png logo to a .svg with a transparent background, the logo looks black. It's in RGB color space. I don't understand what is happening. I turned off the layer that had a white surround. Thanks for your help!
First Make sure the image has no background, Export the file from "save for web (legacy)" and check the settings from there. Gif format only supports a single shade to be used as transparent, Therefore the image will have a hard edge. Since the format is 8-bit, then one of the colors must be used for the transparency.
PDF is saved as Acrobat Reader extended (most users will have this instead of the Acrobat Pro). Upon testing it using Acrobat Reader, I found that when I select a black transparent PNG image (e.g. a black logo/icon with transparent background) it turns into full black square but it works fine when the image is colored or have white background.
Use quick selection to select the logo. In the paths panel click on “ Make work path from selection”. Go quickly round the path and adjust any points that are missing the shape at all. On straight edges the easiest way is to delete any unnecessary points. In Pen tool options : Select Make : Shape.
