A 20-acre plot of land that was handed out to the district by Louis Telge, also known as the grandfather of the previous School Board members John and Chester Telge. On the newly donated land, a school called, "Big Cypress Schoolhouse, No. 2. Dist. 6," was built in the year of 1884, in Cypress, Texas. It was also called the "Cypress School".
