South Australian Railways T class. A new class of 4-8-0 locomotive, the T class, designed in South Australia for use on the narrow gauge 3 ft 6 in (1,067 mm) gauge system of the South Australian Railways, was introduced in 1903. It proved to be a suitable workhorse and by 1917 there were 78 locomotives in the class.
Using Whyte notation for steam locomotives, each frame is a 4-6-0 locomotive, which in the Pennsylvania Railroad classification system is a "G". The GG1 has two such frames back to back, 4-6-0+0-6-4. The related AAR wheel arrangement classification is 2-C+C-2. This means one frame mounted upon a set of two axles unpowered (the "2") and three ...
Factor of adh. The Reading T-1 was a class of 4-8-4 "Northern" type steam locomotives owned by the Reading Company. High-leg delta. High-leg delta (also known as wild-leg, stinger leg, bastard leg, high-leg, orange-leg, red-leg, dog-leg delta) is a type of electrical service connection for three-phase electric power installations. Thus 1 = 30°, 2 = 60°, 3 = 90°, 6 = 180° and 12 = 0° or 360°. According to the IEC60076-1 standard, the notation is HV-LV in sequence. For example, a step-up transformer with a delta-connected primary and a wye-connected secondary is still labeled as 'Yd1'. The 1 indicates the LV winding lags the HV by 30 degrees. [1]
