No. 6 (Yellow, White, Blue over Yellow on Gray) is a 1954 oil on canvas painting in a color field style by Latvian-born American artist Mark Rothko created in 1954. After his experiments with mythological themes and Surrealism to express tragedy he turned to depicting irregular and painterly rectangular regions of color.

He is best known for his color field paintings that depicted irregular and painterly rectangular regions of color, which he produced from 1949 to 1970.
Vir Heroicus Sublimis is a 1951 painting by Barnett Newman, [1] an American painter who was a key part of the abstract expressionist movement. Vir Heroicus Sublimis—"Man, Heroic and Sublime" in Latin—attempts to evoke a reaction from its viewers through its overwhelming scale (his largest canvas yet at the time he released it) and saturated color.
