Samuel P. Taylor State Park is a state park located in Marin County, California, United States, which includes approximately 2,700 acres (11 km 2) of redwood forest and grassland. The park contains about 600 acres (2.4 km 2 ) of old-growth forest , [ 1 ] some of which can be seen along the Pioneer Tree Trail.
In the mid-1950s, Camp Massanetta was established on a ridge to the west of the main development. Minnesota architect W. Glen Wallace designed a campground with sixteen cabins, lodges, dining hall, bathhouses, infirmary, director's cabin and a swimming pool, all completed in 1956. Tent campsites were developed in the surrounding woods.
