The 60th New York Infantry Regiment (aka "St. Lawrence Regiment") was an infantry regiment in the Union Army during the American Civil War. The regiment saw service in both the eastern and the western theaters of the American Civil War.
He served as first sergeant in Company A of the 73rd New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment. [1] [2] He earned his medal in action at the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House, Virginia on May 12, 1864. [2] Jones was killed in action on May 12, 1864, and thus his medal was award posthumously on December 1, 1864.
