Ash is a young man who travels with various companions, aiming to fulfill his dream to become a Pokémon Master; his Pokémon lineup constantly changes over the course of the series, with its sole constant member being Pikachu, Ash's first Pokémon. Ash is loosely based on Red, the player character from the Generation I games Pokémon Red and Blue.
The battle was called off as her manager came to pick up Diantha. Later on, Diantha was informed by Olympia about the upcoming Team Flare disaster and tracks down Ash and co. who were practicing on handling Greninja's transformation. Ash almost defeated Diantha in battle only to collapse from exhaustion when trying to handle the Ash-Greninja form.
Then, Ash reaches the Lumiose City Gym to challenge the Gym leader but Ash doesn't have 4 badges. So, the Gym paralizes and throws them out. Then Ash and Pikachu meet Clemont and Bonnie, two siblings from Lumiose City, Clemont is an inventor, while Bonnie loves Pokemon but is only 8 years old so she can't be a trainer yet.
After Ash and Lucario prepare for their upcoming battle against Raihan, Goh's Froakie suddenly evolves into a Frogadier. Ash is reminded of his own Greninja and decides to head to Kalos to have Lucario learn some new techniques from Greninja. Later on, Ash and Lucario both feel Greninja's presence.
