Caerphilly County Borough (Welsh: Bwrdeistref Sirol Caerffili) is a county borough in the south-east of Wales. It is governed by Caerphilly County Borough Council. Its main and largest town is Caerphilly. Other towns in the county borough are Bedwas, Risca, Ystrad Mynach, Newbridge, Blackwood, Bargoed, New Tredegar and Rhymney.
There are 27 communities in Caerphilly County Borough, with Newbridge being the largest and Gelligaer the most populated. 18 of them have a community council, with four calling themselves town councils in Bargoed, Blackwood, Caerphilly and Risca West.

Blackwood (Welsh: Coed Duon or Coed-duon ⓘ) is a town, community and an electoral ward on the Sirhowy River in the South Wales Valleys administered as part of Caerphilly County Borough. It is located within the historic county of Monmouthshire. The town houses a growing number of light industrial and high-tech firms.
It is the largest town in Caerphilly County Borough and lies within the historic borders of Glamorgan, on the border with Monmouthshire. At the 2011 Census, the town had a population of 41,402 [1] while the wider Caerphilly local authority area had a population of 178,806. [5]
