Moraine State Park is a Pennsylvania state park on 16,725 acres (6,768 ha) in Brady, Clay, Franklin, Muddy Creek, and Worth townships in Butler County, Pennsylvania. The park includes a man-made lake, Lake Arthur, formed by impounding Muddy Creek , which is 3,225 acres (1,305 ha) and is used for recreational purposes.

Moraine State Park, situated around Lake Arthur, is a short distance east of I-79. Portersville lies between the cities of Butler 15 miles (24 km) east and New Castle 14 miles (23 km) to the west.

The creek is impounded to form Lake Arthur, which is surrounded by Moraine State Park, a recreational area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 25.2 square miles (65.3 km 2), of which 24.2 square miles (62.8 km 2) is land and 0.97 square miles (2.5 km 2), or 3.89%, is water. Lake Arthur, a reservoir on Muddy Creek, is located in the northern part of the township, with Moraine State Park surrounding the lake. According to the United States Census Bureau , the township has a total area of 22.9 square miles (59.3 km 2 ), of which 21.3 square miles (55.1 km 2 ) is land and 1.6 square miles (4.2 km 2 ), or 7.03%, is water.

The creek is impounded in the township to form Lake Arthur, surrounded by Moraine State Park. The township surrounds the borough of Portersville but is a separate entity. The unincorporated community of Lake Arthur Estates , a census-designated place , is in the northwestern part of the township.
