The Sturges House is the only structure in Southern California built in the modern style Wright called Usonian design. [4] Other Wright homes in the area were built in the 1920s with interlocking, pre-cast concrete blocks, which he named "textile block" style, and seen in such homes as the Ennis House .

The Wrights were a close-knit family and their houses were a nest of domesticity. Elizabeth Ann Wright retained ownership of the land on which Oaklands stands until her death in 1920, after which the house was reputedly left vacant until 1922 when Elizabeth Ann Barbet, the youngest daughter of John and Elizabeth Wright, became the registered owner.
The Bernard (and Fern) Schwartz House, also known as Still Bend, is a 3,000 sq foot Frank Lloyd Wright-designed house in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. It is considered to be Wright's Life magazine "Dream House," and is a rare example of a two-story Usonian house. Wright originally developed the design for the house for Life in 1938.
The house, like other Wright-designed Usonian automatics, is composed of concrete blocks that is broken up by glass and redwood plywood. The Tracy House is 1,150 square feet (107 m 2 ) and has three bedrooms and one bathroom as well as a two-car garage ; the lot itself is 31,000 square feet (2,900 m 2 ) and faces the Puget Sound .
But when they came it was worth the wait. As Wright wrote, "your patience will be rewarded this side of heaven". Wright designed the house in 1950, and the Schabergs built the house in 1957.
