Heart Like a Wheel is a 1983 American biographical drama sports film directed by Jonathan Kaplan [2] and based on the life of drag racing driver Shirley Muldowney. It stars Bonnie Bedelia as Shirley Muldowney and Beau Bridges as drag racing driver Connie Kalitta .
He gained fame in the 1970s and 1980s through his film roles, including those in The Black Stallion (1979), Liar's Moon (1982), Heart Like a Wheel (1983) and Gremlins (1984). His television appearances included McCloud (1976), The Bionic Woman (1976), WKRP in Cincinnati (1979) and Diff'rent Strokes (1984, 1985).
Although Circle of Love was certified Gold for sales of 500,000 units in December 1981 [3] the album, with its lead single "Heart Like a Wheel" only managing to reach #24 in the US (and #17 in Canada), was a commercial disappointment in contrast to the band's three preceding albums which had all reached million-selling Platinum status. The song was covered by Linda Ronstadt on her 1974 Heart Like a Wheel album. This version was used in James Cameron's 1989 movie, The Abyss. The Byrds recorded the song during the sessions for their 1970 album and performed the song live throughout that same year.
Heart Like a Wheel is the fifth solo studio album by Linda Ronstadt, released in November 1974.It was Ronstadt's last album to be released by Capitol Records.At the time of its recording, Ronstadt had already moved to Asylum Records and released her first album there; due to contractual obligations, though, Heart Like a Wheel was released by Capitol.
