The Movie Song Album is a 1966 studio album by Tony Bennett. [2] The album consists of songs from films, opening with the theme from The Oscar , in which Bennett had recently appeared. With this project of such high quality of song material and collaborators, he was to describe the album in his autobiography as his "all time favorite record".
The album is a combination of selections from the score composed by Sam Phillips and the music of other musicians heard, mostly, during the first two seasons of the show. Also included on the album is the new version [ 3 ] of " Where You Lead " by Carole King and her daughter Louise Goffin , a snippet of which serves as the theme song for the show.
Volume 1 was released May 10, 1994 just prior to the film's release and Volume II was released in 1995, both on MCA Records.
