Kuwait’s road network consists of a radial grid design. With seven major Ring Roads and a number of major dual-carriage expressways, the road network links Kuwait City to every area of Kuwait, as well as to the Iraqi and Saudi Arabian borders.
A number of PART’s ongoing road projects, such as the Fourth Ring Road, the Fahaheel Expressway and the third phase of the First Ring Road, are designed to alleviate traffic congestion in Kuwait City, with several developments completed in recent years having proved effective.
The minister explained that all of Kuwait’s roads, from the First Ring Road to the Seventh Ring Road, including Salmi Road, Abdali Road, and the internal roads will undergo maintenance. The work will be carried out by international, Gulf, and local companies, with immediate efforts focused on the most affected areas, followed by others.
