Urdu Science Board (abbreviated as USB) is an academic and literary institution in Pakistan that operates under the National Heritage and Culture Division, Government of Pakistan. It aims to promote scientific and technical knowledge in Urdu language through the publication of books and journals.
It also contains information about science, engineering and technology for research and development of technology. An expanded project of the Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) and a subsidiary of the Pakistan Science Foundation, it is headquartered in Quaid-i-Azam University campus, Islamabad.
Initially established as Pakistan Department of Research in 1951, PCSIR was reformulated in its current form in 1953. The PCSIR was established in Karachi by Prof. Dr. Salimuzzaman Siddiqui in 1953 for the development of scientific and technical Research and Development and to provide infrastructure for industrial development in Pakistan.
