Freesound is a collaborative repository of Creative Commons licensed audio samples, and non-profit organisation, with more than 500,000 sounds and effects (as of May 2021), [1] and 8 million registered users (as of March 2019).
All samples should be well named (Artist name - Song title.ogg). All samples should include {{Non-free audio sample}}, or another relevant tag. The description page should contain all relevant information and a fair use rationale for each page on which the sample appears. The template {{Music sample info}} should help in this regard.
Music examples are an obviously valuable and necessary addition to Wikipedia, often superior to text. These are both far more valuable and far more free than music samples being abstract categories applicable to multiple examples without any of the copyright or other law applicable to samples.
