Famous Brands (formerly known as Steers Group) is a South African-based conglomerate predominately dealing in quick service and casual dining restaurants, and is currently headquartered in Midrand. Originally founded in the 1960s, it became listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in 1994.
Steers Holdings listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in November 1994, and in 2001 changed its name to Famous Brands Limited. Centurion (previously known as Verwoerdburg and before that Lyttelton) is an area with 236,580 inhabitants (2011 census) in the Gauteng Province of South Africa, between Pretoria and Midrand. Formerly an independent municipality, with its own town council, it has been part of the City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality since 2000.
