Springville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tulare County, California, United States.The population was 967 at the 2020 census, up from 934 at the 2010 census. The original name of the town was “Daunt”, after William Daunt, a settler who opened the first store in the town in 1860.
The brick building was built in 1912 by Charles Alonzo Elster, a significant businessman in the area. When it opened, the building contained several of Springville's main businesses, including its post office, a bank, a drugstore, the Odd Fellows hall, and the town's first telephone.

Mountain Home Demonstration State Forest (MHDSF) is a state forest located on Bear Creek Road (Tulare County Route 220), 28 km (17 mi) northeast of Springville in Tulare County, California. The protected land covers an area of 4,807 acres (19 km 2) with an elevation range between 1,463 m (4,800 ft) and 2,377.5 m (7,800 ft).
