It was founded in 1953 as a 7–12 grade combined high school and became solely a senior high school in 1963. The school has a Van Nuys address and serves Lake Balboa, parts of Encino, and Amestoy Estates. It is within the Los Angeles Unified School District but operates as an internal charter school.
On June 22, 2020, nCino announced that it had filed a Form S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The S-1 filing noted that nCino's revenue in fiscal year 2020 was $138 million, up from $91.5 million in fiscal year 2019.
