Known as Sandringham time, an offset of 30 minutes from GMT was used by the British royal household at the Norfolk estate Sandringham. This was stopped in 1936. The 1st Sussex Engineer Volunteer Corps was raised at Eastbourne in 1890 and by 1901 had expanded to 11 companies across Sussex and Kent.
