The James River Steam Brewery Cellars are a historic series of brewery-related tunnels near the Rocketts Landing development on the James River in Henrico County, Virginia. Starr Hill Brewery was founded in 1999 [1] in the city of Charlottesville, Virginia, by Mark Thompson, [2] his wife Kristin Dolan, [3] and music executive Coran Capshaw. [4] The brewery takes its name from the neighborhood where it was originally located. In 2005, the brewery moved to nearby Crozet, Virginia. [5]
