David Walliams (born 1971) is a British writer of children's books, having sold more than 37 million copies worldwide. Walliams began writing children's novels in 2008 after securing a contract with the publisher HarperCollins .

He is best known for his work with Matt Lucas on the BBC sketch comedy series Little Britain (2003–2006) and Come Fly With Me (2010–2011).
The Midnight Gang is a children's book written by David Walliams and illustrated by Tony Ross.It was released by HarperCollins on 3 November 2016. The story follows a boy called Thomas "Tom" Charper going to a cruel hospital and joining a "midnight gang" consisting of the facility's other children and staff.
The book was published in hardcover by HarperCollins in October 2008, with a paperback release scheduled for May 2009. [7] Walliams and his comedy partner Matt Lucas recorded an audiobook of the story, also for HarperCollins, which was released in November 2008.
