Bottom is a British sitcom created by Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson that ran for three series on BBC2 from 1991 to 1995. It focuses on Richard "Richie" Richard (Mayall) and Edward Elizabeth "Eddie" Hitler (Edmondson), two unemployed, crude, and perverted flatmates living in Hammersmith, London, who aspire to better themselves.
Eddie does the same thing to Richie who responds with the same line in the first and second of the Bottom Live performances. Eddie has on more than one occasion mocked Richie for being a virgin, and throughout most of the Young Ones episode "Time", Vyvyan taunted Rick for being a virgin to which Rick repeatedly denies.
Later on, Eddie attends to spend the rest of his christmas hour watching fictional Noel's Christmas Family Video Acciddents, But Richie forbids Eddie to watch TV until the Queen's Speech comes on (although Richie renders this impossible by pulling out the plug wire) and proceeds to start Christmas lunch.
Eddie wins the argument, but Richie gives Eddie one last kick in the "bollocks" and Eddie passes out. Richie then tries to seduce a hotel maid who has arrived with the couple's complimentary honeymoon biscuits.
Eddie responds that it is "the fish repeating on you". The two begin to hear more noises, which Eddie believes are the Wombles coming to get them. Eddie attempts to build a fire in the tent to ward them off, only to cause an explosion that burns his and Richie's faces. As the storm continues, a dark shadow appears creeping outside the tent.
Eddie, Hedgehog and Spudgun end up watching Eddie's Emmerdale Farm compilation on video. However, Eddie does not install a VCR until " Carnival ", the final episode of series three. It could however be implied, that the TV set in this episode was later destroyed in "Culture", and then replaced by a TV set without one.
While Richie keeps the veteran distracted by giving him more free drinks and asking him to give extended anecdotes about him time during the war, Eddie steals the leg and takes it down to local mean-spirited pawnbroker Harry the Bastard, who, despite correctly valuing the leg as being worth at least £2,500, is only willing to offer Eddie a ...
Eddie reads in The Hammersmith Bugle that the paper's Stork margarine competition winner is Slip Digby, but in the Bottom Live 2 show, it is said that Eddie and Richie are the only people to have ever read the paper. Eddie drops a plastic cup from the Ferris wheel, and it almost immediately drops to the ground, making a noise.
