Brembo N.V. is an Italian manufacturer of automotive parts that most notably produces brakes and rims, especially for high-performance cars and motorcycles. Its operational head office is in Curno , Bergamo , Italy , while Amsterdam , Netherlands, is the company's legal seat.
Optional equipment includes a Torsen Limited slip differential [35] and four-piston Brembo brakes with 13.4 in (340 mm) rotors in the front and 13 in (330 mm) in the rear. 18 inch wheels are standard, while optional 19 inch wheels using 225/40 tires in the front and 245/40 in the rear are packaged together with the Brembo brake upgrade. [35]
The braking system is from Brembo, with 6-piston calipers and 343 mm (13.5 in) rotors in front, and 4-piston calipers over 304 mm (12.0 in) rotors in back. The suspension is a double wishbone system with actuated push-rods at the rear, with adjustable anti-roll bars and dampers.
The engine was mated to a T56 6-speed manual transmission and the car was equipped with front and rear suspension featuring progressive-rate springs and gas-pressurized dampers, four-wheel vented disc brakes with 14-inch rotors, 21-inch front and 22-inch rear five-spoke cast alloy wheels, and 275/30R21 front and 305/30R22 rear tires.
The ZL1 also features Brembo brakes with six-piston monoblock front calipers and 15.35-inch two-piece front rotors. The interior features Recaro front seats, as well as a sueded flat-bottom steering wheel and specialized shift knob. [26] Transmission choices are a rev matching 6-speed manual or a newly developed 10-speed automatic. [6]
The car rides on the FE3 suspension, superior and more sport‑tuned to that of base Cobalts but less refined than the FE5 on the supercharged and turbocharged cars. Brakes on the 2.4 L naturally aspirated and supercharged model are identical, but the turbocharged model received an upgraded Brembo braking system. [7]
