Seven Lakes State Park is a public recreation area covering 1,434 acres (580 ha) one mile northwest of Holly in Holly Township, Oakland County, Michigan. [2] The state park's 230 acres (93 ha) of water are found in six named lakes that include 170-acre Big Seven Lake, [3] Little Seven Lake, and 44-acre Dickinson Lake.
An 8-mile (13 km) paved hike-bike trail, 19 miles (31 km) of horse trails and 7 miles (11 km) of hiking-only trails are available as well as connecting trails to other nearby parks. The only camping is in organized group camping or canoe-in sites. The park receives 2.5 million visitors a year. Kensington Metropark opened in 1947.
Dodge No. 4 State Park is a public recreation area covering 139 acres (56 ha) on the north shore of Cass Lake in Oakland County, northern Metro Detroit, Michigan. [3] The state park occupies a mile of shoreline on the 1,280-acre (520 ha) lake.

[4]Potawatomi, Chippewa and Ottawa Native Americans lived, traveled and camped in this area including on the shores of White Lake which they called “white” or “clear” and that is where the name of the lake and township originated.
