The Cornell Big Red wrestling team represents Cornell University of Ithaca, New York in collegiate wrestling.It is one of the most successful and storied collegiate wrestling programs in the nation with over 20 individual NCAA champions, 43 Ivy League championships, and 28 Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association championships since the program's 1907 founding.
Koll joined Cornell University as an assistant wrestling coach in 1989. He became head wrestling coach at the school in 1993. He led Cornell to six top-five finishes in the NCAA Division I wrestling tournament, including second-place finishes in 2010 and 2011. The 2010 and 2011 finishes were the best ever for an Ivy League team. [3]

He captured the NCAA Championship in 2012 at 197 pounds for the Cornell Big Red wrestling Program. Simaz is a competing member of the Association of Career Wrestlers. In 2018, Simaz joined the coaching staff at South Dakota State University.

On August 21, 2021, while still competing internationally, Gwiazdowski joined the coaching staff of Cornell University as a volunteer assistant coach. [12] He continued to coach the Big Red through the 2023-24 season. [13] On November 8, 2024, Warren Central High School in Indianapolis announced that he had been hired as an assistant coach. [14]

After graduating from high school Nickerson attended Cornell University, where he won three EIWA wrestling titles and was a rare four-time NCAA All-American. In his junior year, Nickerson won the 2009 NCAA wrestling title at 125 pounds. He finished 2nd as a true freshman, 3rd as a sophomore, and 4th as a senior with a total career record of 97-8.
