The village of Bainbridge, Ohio, is located in Ross County, in Southern Ohio. The first residents of Bainbridge were the McConougheys, who came from Blandford, Massachusetts. Many other settlers followed. In 1817, Bainbridge Township was established. The first housing subdivision, Lake Lucerne, opened in 1922.

The census-designated place of Bass Lake is in the northeast part of the township, adjacent to Chardon. Munson Township is home to Alpine Valley, one of the few skiing locations in Ohio. The Geauga County Courthouse is located at 100 Short Court Street in Chardon, Ohio. The cornerstone was laid September 10, 1869 and construction was completed on August 20, 1870. The courthouse was listed on the National Register in 1974 as part of the Chardon Courthouse Square District .
In 1995, ASM International sold more than 500 acres (200 ha), including over half of the original donated parcel, to the Geauga Park District, [2] [5] which represents a sizable portion of the 902-acre (365 ha) West Woods park. The ASM International campus resides on the remaining 45 acres (18 ha) of land split into two parcels.
