Map of Gotham City. cape named finger: This is my neighborhood map of Gotham City. I've previously posted a "Gotham in four categories" map here, which in turn was expanding on my "Gotham-Metropolis Bay" map. Gotham City is divided in 5 Boroughs: North, Central and South Gotham, as well as Sommerset and Cape Finger, and stands by the western ...
There is no 'official' map of Gotham. However, this map is the most commonly accepted among artist, writers and creators. I love this map, but looking closer, one thing that bothers me about it is Arkham. So, Arkham's on an island, like in the Nolan films. Makes sense, its secure, so far so good.
To summarize, I used Browns classic 90s map of Gotham for "No Man's Land" but inverted it to fit better in the Delaware Bay coast of NJ. I named the neighborhoods either after named ones in the comics, names ones in Browns map, or the names of comic book authors that worked on Batman. Gotham City is divided in 5 Boroughs: North, Central and ...
Ref: Karridian.net. This is somewhat consistent with this quote: Gruenwald suggested that Gotham City is located somewhere in the state of New Jersey while Metropolis is located in close vicinity to Washington, D.C. There are several other comics which place Gotham City in New Jersey, with references to proxity to the Jersey Shore and Hudson ...
One very early map just as Gotham located on one side of a large bay, opposite Metropolis. The DCEU took a similar approach, and I don't remember anything suggesting the city itself was on a large island. Burton's Gotham was just Star City Central City Vancouver (which does have some large islands but is mostly connected to the mainland).
The map of Gotham City from The Art of The Batman. Thanks for posting this. I was impressed by how well the movie was able to convey a sense of layout just by using the Gotham Empire tower in the opening montage and later the seawall to provide landmarks. Interesting!
Map of Gotham City, from the TV show "Gotham". I feel like having a nut house in the middle of a city is bad planning. Neat; they went with the earlier version from the comics pretty much as is (specifically No Man's Land). If they've stuck to other stuff like that, Wayne Manor should be just off the top right right corner on that piece of land ...
Gotham North. Gotham Bay (Arkham Asylum and Sea Gate and part of Arkham City) Reasoning for some of the Changes/Choices: The Downtown: I decided to use Arkham City's skybox for the downtown part of the map because it looks a lot more like a downtown than Arkham Knights. Why I used Arkham Knight for the rest of the Map: Because if I used Arkham ...
A subreddit for the FOX TV series Gotham; Bruce Wayne becomes an orphan when his billionaire parents Thomas and Martha Wayne are murdered - James Gordon must navigate the seedy underbelly of Gotham's justice system while combating the rise of the city's most notorious villains, promising justice to young Bruce as he finds his way toward becoming the iconic caped crusader.
Gotham City, through references in the comics to things like Dutch and Scandinavian colonists, neighborhoods called Bowery, Park Row, Battery Park, etc., and coordinates used in comic books like in Batman Secret files #1, very clearly place Gotham City on the East Coast, specifically in New Jersey or at the very least as a analog for NY.
