None of the suggested fixed work. Suspect this is happening as a result of the latest Edge update. It is so frustrating that I have elected not to use Edge and will use a competitor's search engine until it is fixed. Hopefully, one day I can return to Edge. Who knows, I may find that I like a competitor's search engine better.

So I am new to Edge. I am discovering an interesting problem in Edge that I would like to see if anyone has a remedy for: When I enter an incomplete URL, for example: localhost/application instead of taking me to the page for the site I'm working on locally, Edge does a Bing search for "localhost/application". Chrome does not do this.

Thank you, but I don't think that is the issue. I already have Edge configured to do what I want upon start. What I'm describing is not what happens when Edge is started, but what happens in the middle of using it. I might be browsing for ten minutes before a new tab spontaneously opens with bing.com.
