Tasting Notes. Appearance: Closer to Straw than Toffee with medium legs, looks good in a glass. Nose: Quite soft on the nose with plenty of citrus notes and a faint nutty element. Palate: Smooth and rounded feel on the tongue.
Have a read of my review of the Ardmore Legacy to find out: On the bottle: “Light and sweet, with unique highland peat-smoke notes.” Distiller: The Ardmore. Region: Highlands. ABV: 40%. Proof: 80. Age: NAS. Nose: Malty and nutty with some peaches, hazelnuts and walnuts. Also some peat, honey and pepper. Taste:
In the dark chill of our warehouses, patient years follow. The after maturation, there is even more to be revealed: we carefully marry these casks to create the crisp citrus nose and unmistakable smoothness of Auchentoshan America Oak.”. Distiller: Auchentoshan. Region: Lowlands. ABV: 40%. Proof: 80. Age: NAS.
A well-aged scotch of 18+ years. So as this combines those two things it’s highly likely I will love this too I dare say. The Talisker distillery is located in Carbost on the Isle of Skye in Scotland.
You’ll also know that I’m generally a fan of the Glenfiddich so I was excited to try and review this Glenfiddich 21 Gran Reserva. This is a rum cask finish in a similar vein to the Balvenie 14 which I rather enjoyed.
