Mountain Meadows Reservoir is an artificial lake, located in Lassen County, California. The lake is also known as Walker Lake . [ 3 ] Its waters are impounded by the Indian Ole Dam , which was completed in 1924 (101 years ago) ( 1924 ) .

The camp is located 7.2 miles (11.6 km) south of Tuolumne Meadows Lodge, and 7.6 miles (12.2 km) northeast of the Merced Lake High Sierra Camp by the Fletcher Creek Trail. An alternate route, which crosses Vogelsang Pass at 10,480 feet (3,190 m) [ 13 ] and then takes the Lewis Creek Trail to Merced Lake, is 8.4 miles (13.5 km).

Lassen National Forest is located about 80 miles (130 km) east of Red Bluff, California. It is bordered by Sierra Nevada mountain range to the south, the Modoc Plateau to the east and California's Central Valley to the west. The forest is in parts of Lassen, Shasta, Tehama, Plumas, and Butte counties. [1]
It starts from U.S. Route 395 near Topaz Lake, winding its way up to the 8,314-foot (2,534 m) Monitor Pass, down to the Carson River, and up again over the 7,740-foot (2,359 m) Luther Pass. From that point on, the route generally loses elevation on its way past Lake Tahoe, through Tahoe and Plumas National Forests until Lake Almanor.
