Deinonychosaurian theropods, especially members of the family Dromaeosauridae, are known for their recurved, sickle-shaped claw on the second toe being held off the ground, and thus not preserved in the trackway. This causes their footprints to preserve only two of their toes, making the deinonychosaurian tracks functionally didactyl (two-toed).

Dromaeosaurus (/ ˌ d r oʊ m i ə ˈ s ɔːr ə s,-m i. oʊ-/; [3] lit. ' running lizard ') is a genus of dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period (middle late Campanian and Maastrichtian), sometime between 80 and 69 million years ago, in Alberta, Canada and the western United States.
Unenlagiinae is a subfamily of long-snouted paravian theropods.They are traditionally considered to be members of Dromaeosauridae, though some authors place them into their own family, Unenlagiidae, sometimes alongside the subfamily Halszkaraptorinae.
Like other theropods in the Dromaeosauridae, Saurornitholestes had a long, curving, blade-like claw on the second toe. Saurornitholestes was more long-legged and lightly built than other dromaeosaurids such as Velociraptor and Dromaeosaurus. It resembles Velociraptor in having large, fanglike teeth in the front of the jaws.
