Learn how to customize GPU and CPU settings, create game profiles, and run stress tests in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™. This article covers the features and options available in the Performance tab of Adrenalin for AMD Radeon graphics cards.
The speed of the CPU fan is controlled not by Windows but by the controller on the motherboard and is based on the temperature of the CPU. So it would be obvious to this old tech, that your Windows 10 is running the CPU more than your previous OS.
Could something near the fan get messed up and cause it? Nothing looks broken or off. The computer itself is running fine, but the fan blasting away is annoying and won't stop. Here are some settings. If anyone could help at all, I'd really appreciate it. GPU: Radeon RX 580 Series. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core
Let me explain better, during the normal use of the PC, the rotation speed of the fans varied suddenly, slowing down and increasing the speed regardless of a more or less intensive use of the CPU. Going to investigate, I realized that this depended on a bizarre management of the frequencies on the different cores that were continuously raised ...
Recently I started to get this problems when starting the PC my CPU fan runs at max and in Ryzen Master I See EDC is at 100%, while of course temperatures are normal (and all other values in RM). I've seen some similar topics here and as I understood some of them fixed it with changing the power Setting mode in Win10 to balanced, but for me ...
CPU fan speed in monitor sometimes shows values around 270 rpm, sometimes 0 rpm, although it was always running (at low speed). - at 'full speed' (test button 'All Full Speed' in BIOS screen): after ca 5mins at full speed, CPU temp has dropped a little bit to 45°C. By clicking the 'all full speed' button, the Smart Fan mode is disabled.
Learn how to change the System cooling policy setting in Power Options for Windows 7, 8, and 10. The System cooling policy determines how the fan speed and processor speed are balanced in different scenarios.
The only unusual thing I've noticed with the laptop is that the CPU fan wants to run at full speed all the time, even though the computer is never used for any "processor-intensive" tasks. The normal activity on it is browsing the web, watching videos, playing music, writing text files and really nothing more than that.
If the CPU Cooler Fan works on a case fan port and not on the CPU Fan port, seems to indicate a defective motherboard. I would try and RMA it and see if you get another motherboard that the CPU fan port will power your CPU Cooler fan. Than way the fan will be regulated to run a variable speed depending on the temperature of the CPU.
The fan of my laptop runs quite loud in general but it drops down drastically every time I open the task manager. The sudden drop in CPU usage can be seen immediately after opening the task manager. I have run Malwarebytes and Eset online scan and quarantined the threats found. But the suspicious behaviour of CPU usage has not changed. Please help.
