The four gases most used for airsoft GBB guns are Green Gas, HFC-134a, Red Gas, and CO2. Green Gas is also known as Top Gas and is, in reality, nothing more than propane (with some perfume and silicone oil added). The main use for HFC-134a and Red Gas is in the refrigeration industry.

If you choose to use airsoft guns to deter Coyotes, get either something that uses Co2 or is An Airsoft Eletric Gun (AEG) which uses lypo batteries, and then run a heavy gram of bb's in it. (.40 grams preferably.) This will give it a good sting without hurting it too badly.

BoogerMc. 5875 posts · Joined 2009. #7 · Oct 17, 2017. First, put enough bbs to fill the tube, and with the gun upside down, hold your finger over the feeding tube and test fire the gun again. If it still will not feed and fire properly, I suspect your air nozzle is at fault.

Gearbox's like in the M4 are a lot harder to reduce sound as the motor can move a little off alignment. To make the quietest AEG there are 22 points you will need to work on. Here they are. 1. Air seal - When you have a good air seal you can use a weaker spring because you do not have as much waisted gas.
Using higher BBs to lower the FPS is not a good way to achieve a specific FPS, though, because the energy of the BB does not change. As mentioned above, the only way to permanently lower your FPS is to replace the spring. You can force an air gap between the hop up and nozzle with a shim, but that could also lead to double-feeding.
Honestly, airsoft guns might be more work than real steel. Airsoft is mostly cast zinc which as you can see leaves mold lines and pitting. The gun pictured is one of the first Arcturus guns. It looks as if it were casted then finished in a CNC mill. I was originally going to paint it blue, but saw the machine and cast marks and it bothered me.
