The mountain lion was shot and killed after being spotted in the Antelope Hills golf course area. It did not attack anyone or show aggression towards people, it was just spotted in the residential area so Fish and Game shot and killed it. 08-14-2011, 09:32 AM. keninaz. Salmonid. Lets make sure were talking about a couger/mountain lion vs a bobcat, plenty of those around in rural parts of Ohio. Back in the late 70's a friend of mine took a picture with 4 witnesses of one within a mile of downtown Dayton, DNR was shocked and said the picture must have been a fake.
There were also reports of mountain lions in August 2008 in the Sharon Township-Copley Township area and two months later in Richfield Township. There are no mountain lions in this part of the United States, said Damon Greer of the Ohio Division of Wildlife. People who claim to see a mountain lion don't know what they are really seeing, he said.
Biologists for the Wildlife Division reached their conclusion after studying the photo and comparing it with a deer photographed by the camera days earlier in the same location. Using the deer as a scale, biologists determined the feline image was too small for a mountain lion, cougar or puma. * Last Updated: 10/4/2012 4:05 PM

One other tip I forgot to mention. When skinning or gutting always cut from the inside out. After you get a hole made on the animal lead the knife with the point with the blade facing the outside.
Hey Blaze, Welcome to Ohio! You live in about the worst area for Turkeys in Ohio. Most flocks around here are on Private land.(Yes I too am in the Dayton area) If you have to hunt close, I have seen some at Ceasars Creek but Paint Creek has a pretty good population.
